WHAT IS OFFICERS QUARTERS ALLIANCE / OQA?
The OQ Alliance (OQA) is a selective, invitation-based network of the most qualified, experienced, and respected deck officers in the yachting industry.
Our members actively shape the future of yacht leadership by redefining standards, mentoring rising officers, and sharing professional insights.
OUR MISSION
To strengthen the yachting industry through professionalism, accountability, collaboration, trust and raising the benchmark of current standards.
Memberships
ELITE MEMBERS
Minimum Requirements:
- Must hold a minimum Master 3000GT, Chief Engineer Y2 3000KW, or equivalent STCW certification.
- Must have a minimum of 20 years of yachting industry experience.
- Must be petitioned by an existing Board Member.
- Subject to a board review and approval vote. Must utilize OQ Crew for placement services
STANDARD MEMBERS
Minimum Requirements:
- Must hold a minimum of OOW 3000GT, Engineer Y4 or equivalent STCW certification.
- Must have a minimum of 7 years of yachting industry experience.
- Must be petitioned by an Elite Member. Subject to a board review and approval vote.
- Must successfully complete the seven-step candidate evaluation process.
- Must utilize OQ Crew for placement services.
